3 months old

Daxton turned 3 months old last Friday! Three months doesn't sound like a very long time, but I can't believe that it has already been that long! Time definitely seems to go by more quickly now that he is here and I can't believe how much he has grown in these past three months and how much I have learned!
He is obsessed with putting his hands in his mouth and sucking on them! He'll wake himself up in the middle of the night because he isn't the most coordinated little guy just yet and he'll get frustrated or scratch his face.
He is also quite talented at blowing spit bubbles and loves to do it whenever his hands aren't in his mouth! His grandma Tracey also taught him how to blow raspberries the other week and he loves to blow them! It's so cute to see his face light up when someone does it to him and then he'll do them back!
Dax and I are able to go out and be more active now that he is older. Over the weekend we went boating with some of the "Goose girls," although Dax and I just chilled on the beach all day. He loved watching the seagulls fly away whenever another little kid would run after them. He would squeal and yell as they took off and kick his chubby little legs in excitement!
Earlier today we went and played frisbee golf with dad and some of his friends. Dax loves to be held and probably one of his favorite things is our little front carrier. We were outside playing "folf" for over an hour and he just hung out the whole time! He loves being outside and being able to watch people and the world around him. He's very observant and easily entertained!
This is Dax and his uncle Logan recreating the infamous "Hangover" duo.

Speaking of uncle Logan, everyone has always been saying that Dax looks a lot like him. I never really noticed it before, but I am starting to see it more and more in Dax's eyes, nose, and head. While I notice more of my brother in my baby, Dax definitely has his daddy's lips, smile, chin, and ears!

Everyone who has spent time with Dax has noticed what a happy and easygoing baby he is, even though he is a little spoiled and can't go too long without being held. He has an outgoing personality, just like his dad, and we can tell from his personality that he is going to be a funny and happy person- just like his dad. He is so much fun!

He is an avid cooer these days and loves to talk to anyone who is willing to listen, but sometimes it takes him a few seconds to warm up to new people. When he first encounters a "stranger" he will glare at them for a few minutes before he flashes them one of his ginormous, one dimpled smiles and starts to play with them.
If you haven't noticed by now I am one proud mama and my entire life revolves around him! It's crazy to read on here how positive and mushy I am with each and every Blog post! Normally I am not such an optimistic person (I am not a downer either) but Dax has really helped me see the positives in life and overlook the not-so-positive parts- which we are still experiencing plenty of at this moment.

The wedding planning is coming along slowly, but surely. I always thought that I would be more of a "bridezilla," however I feel that I am much too laid-back, not much is getting done except: we have a venue, we have bridesmaids' dresses, we are taking engagement pictures on Saturday, and I found my dress last weekend! It was only the third dress I tried on, but I knew as soon as I saw it in the store that it was MY dress! I was the first person to try it on because they had just gotten it in the night before and my MOH, Lilly, and mother said it was "totally a Lyndsey dress." I know that everything will come together and the wedding will end up being a great day no matter what happens. I'm too busy with other things in life to stress over silly little wedding details like seating charts and invitations! :)

These are a few of my favorite things...

About being a mommy: (in no particular order)

1. Starting and ending each and everyday snuggled up to my favorite person
2. Seeing his face light up whenever he sees me
3. Watching him grow and develop (it amazes me how much he can change in just one day!)
4. How it has strengthened my relationship with Ryan
5. Having a person that cheers me up and makes everyday a good day no matter what has happened
6. How it has helped me see "the bigger picture" and what really matters in life
7. Having that amazingly proud, tingly feeling whenever he accomplishes something (such as rolling over, which he did yesterday!)
8. Not feeling like a weirdo when I watch Rugrats and other kids' shows (because I still enjoy watching kids' shows and now have a 'normal' reason to watch them)
9. How it has brought me even closer with my best friend (my mom) and the rest of mine and Ryan's family/ies
10. Accomplishing something and making each and everyday worthwhile (whether or not the laundry gets done and I actually get out of the house) It's impossible to waste an entire day when it's spent with Dax
