Dax is 2 months old!

Time flies when you are having fun!! Daxton is now nine weeks old and is growing like a sprout!! As of today he weighs 13 pounds and 2 ounces and has grown to 22 inches, meaning he is in the 80th percentile for weight and the 25th for height (his head circumference is in the 75th percentile.) His legs are getting so chubby and his double chin is almost a triple chin! I love it! Dax smiles so much these days and is a very happy little boy. He loves to smile, coo, squeal, and gurgle at everyone who talks to him and even at inanimate objects (such as the animals on his mobiles and bright lights.) He is the most entertaining thing in my life right now and I love spending all day hanging out with him. He is on the verge of both giggling and rolling over (he can roll on his side) and is able to push his chest off of the ground when he's having some "tummy time" and completely support his noggin. I enjoy walking with him around our neighborhood as much as possible (we try to go everyday) and tonight we even went rollerblading with some girls from work, although Dax slept through the whole experience.
This is a picture of Dax and I at one of our friends' daughter's baseball game. He loves hanging out in his carrier because he loves being held facing outward so that he can see everything.

Other exciting news: Ryan and I have scheduled our wedding for October 2nd, 2010 at the Rose River Reception in Blackfoot, ID. The venue is gorgeous and I can't wait to get married there with all of my family and friends! Dax is going to be a big part of the event and I'm looking forward to involving him in the process.

I Love It When You Smile

Mornings are one of my favorite times to spend with Dax, especially right after we wake up and I change him out of his pajamas and into his outfit for the day. He always wakes up in a good mood and flashes me the greatest smiles as I talk to him and undress/dress him. He enjoys being naked now, although he originally hated it. Sometimes I even let him hang out in his diaper until his nap around 10:00 A.M. Reaching this milestone made me so happy, it's nice to know that he is actually smiling in response to me instead of in response to gas. Other than smiling in response to people, Dax smiles at the jungle mobile above his vibrating bouncer and the frog mobile above his crib. His favorite animals on the jungle mobile are a spotted giraffe and bright orange lion, he doesn't care much for the gray elephant yet. Whenever the lion or giraffe pass above his head he will coo or scream at them and kick his legs super fast, it's the most adorable thing! I could, and do, spend all day just watching him.
